Note:
If off campus Global Protect needs to be connected and on campus is required to be connected to the UNBC Network.
Note: First time Ricoh driver install may ask for admin credentials. You may self-install Ricoh Drivers via Company Portal by searching for "Ricoh" or "Drivers". If you are not presented with the option, please submit a ticket to support@unbc.ca.
Windows OS Devices:
- Search for Printers & scanners, click to open
- Click Add Device followed by Add manually
- Select a shared printer by name
Enter \\printserver.unbc.ca\sharename , IE: \\printserver.unbc.ca\prt502
- Click Next
- Click Next
- Set as default or not
- Click Finish
The printer should now be available for use.
Mac OS Devices:
Open System Settings → Printers and Scanners
- Click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax ....
- Select IP from the top three icons.
- In the Address field: printserver.unbc.ca.
- Protocol field: Line Printer Daemon - LPD.
- Queue: add the name of the print queue (ie: prt701).
- Name field: add the name of the print queue (ie: prt701).
- Location field: Type the name of the room the printer is located in (Optional)
- Use: Change from Auto Select to the correct Ricoh print driver.
- Click on Add.
- You may want to make this printer the default by selecting the Default Printer option after the printer has been added.
The printer should now be available for use.
