Microsoft Teams Phone Quickstart

Overview

Microsoft Teams Phone lets you make and receive calls from your computer or mobile device, combining chat, meetings, and calling in one place.

Make a Call

Call a Teams user

  • Open a chat
  • Select Audio or Video call
  • Use Add people to include others

Call a phone number

  • Go to Calls
  • Open the Dial Pad
  • Enter a number and press call

Answer and Manage Calls

  • Click Answer when a call appears
  • Use Hold if needed
  • Click Hang Up to end the call

Transfer and Park Calls

Transfer

  • Select More actions (…)
  • Click Transfer
  • Choose a contact

Call Park

  • Select Call park
  • Share the code
  • Retrieve using Unpark

Voicemail

  • Access from the Calls tab
  • Listen to messages
  • Read transcriptions
  • Set greeting in Settings → Calls

Mobile Use

  • Open the Teams app
  • Tap Calls
  • Use dial pad, history, or contacts
  • Switch between devices during calls

Delegation (Optional)

Useful for executives and assistants
  • Allow others to make/receive calls for you
  • Set under Settings → General → Manage delegates
