Uploading your photo for your ID card

Upload your personal photo for your UNBC ID Card through the OneWeb site or 360u mobile app. Download “TouchNet 360u” free app to your Apple or Android device through App Store or Google Play. For a replacement ID Card, fees may apply.

UNBC is collecting your photo in order to generate your ID card. We are authorized to collect this information under section 26(c) of FOIPPA. If you have any questions about the collection of your information, please contact claudia.barreira@unbc.ca.

OneWeb process - browser application

Sign in to OneWeb

Access to your OneWeb account

Using your UNBC credentials, sign in to my.unbc.ca. Click on the Main Menu, three lines in the upper left of the screen, then on Discover. On the Discover page, under Find cards, search for “UNBC ID Card”, then click on Manage ID online.

Upload your photo

From the Dashboard, click on Personal Settings

From the Personal Settings section, click on Update Photo.

At the Current Account Picture window, click on Upload.

Select the file from the location on your computer where the photo is saved.

Photo guidelines.

Photos MUST follow the following guidelines. Any non-compliant photos will not be approved.

  • Make sure the photo presents the full head from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin.
  • Center the head with the frame.
  • You should have a neutral expression and be facing the camera.
  • The system is configured to use aspect ratio 1:1
  • The minimum size of the photo should be: Width: 300 px. Height: 300 px.
  • If the photo is larger than: Width: 1200 px. Height: 1200 px., it will be resized to these dimensions.

Click on Crop & Rotate to center the head with the frame.

Once the results are met, click on Apply.

If the photo’s format does not comply with the aspect ratio system requirements an error message will display, “An error occurred while processing your request. Unable to submit account image! Error: The image you are trying to save does not fall under the aspect ratio system requirements! Please crop the image to proceed!”

Approval of your photo in OneWeb

Once your photo is submitted, an email notification is sent to your UNBC email address indicating that your photo is being reviewed.

Your photo does not change right away.  It must be approved before any changes take effect.

If your photo does not meet the photo guidelines, you will receive an email requesting that you correct your photo to comply with the photo guidelines.

If a photo exists in the system for you, a card replacement fee may apply if you decide to print a physical card at the Cashier Office. 

If your photo is approved, your new photo will update automatically in OneWeb and 360u profile. Please allow 3-5 business days for your 360u virtual ID to update.  

360u Process - mobile app

Sign in to 360u

Once in 360u mobile app, at the TouchNet 360u cover page in the School finder box, type "UNBC" and select “University of Northern British Columbia”.

Click on Continue.

If prompted to use Biometric choose “Don’t allow” or “Ok”.

Click Log in. Account Type: SSO

Select the cookie settings of your choice.

Read, then agree or disagree to the Terms & Conditions for TouchNet End User Privacy Notice.

Selecting “Disagree” will exit you out of the app. Selecting “Agree” continues to the next step.

Retake and upload your photo in 360u

You are presented with the option to Retake or Approve the photo displayed.

Retake

Read the ID Photo Guidelines.

  • Make sure the photo presents the full head from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin.
  • Center the head with the frame.
  • You should have a neutral expression and be facing the camera.

Click on Continue.

Select Take Photo or Upload

  • Take Photo uses your mobile device to take a new photo of you.
  • Upload allows you to select a photo from the files on your mobile device.

Once the photo is taken or uploaded, you have the options to rotate, crop, flip your photo or leave as is. 

Your photo must comply with the ID Photo Guidelines to be approved by the ID Card Administrator.

Once you are satisfied with the results, click on Approve.

Approval of your photo using 360u

A message displays indicating that the administrator will review your photo. If approved, your photo updates on your account. If it does not meet the ID photo guidelines, it will be rejected, and you will receive an email from the administrator requesting that your photo complies with the photo guidelines. An email notification is also sent to your UNBC email address.
