Purpose
This section is to assist those submitting and/or managing a request with some fundamental details on the approach UNBC takes to digital projects, using Agile or Hybrid methodologies for project management.
Definitions
Agile Project Management
Agile project management breaks down projects into tasks and prioritizes tasks based on importance, with feedback taken with each iteration until the project is completed. This approach can be used for a project with a high level of uncertainty and/or unknowns, or desired adaptability based on user feedback.
Predictive Project Management
Predictive project management is used when requirements can be defined, collected and analyzed at the start of a project. This approach can be used for high risk or high investment projects to ensure frequent reviews, change control mechanisms, and re planning between phases.
Hybrid Project Management
Hybrid project management combines elements of predictive and agile methodologies to make the project management approach best suited for an individual use case. In TDX, PMO Template includes both a template waterfall and card wall plan to create allow for hybrid project management.
Waterfall Plan (Predictive)
The waterfall plan is a linear and logical progression between steps in the project, and progression is based on the completion of the previous steps. This approach is good for managing milestones and schedules that need to be tracked and reported.
Card Wall Plan (Agile)
Card walls are virtual boards where tasks can be posted, managed and monitored. It organizes work, progress, and facilitates collaboration within teams. This approach is good for adding flexibility to a project with tasks that can be viewed and shared by a team easily.

Principles of Project Management
The Project Management Institute (PMI) standards have change with the seventh edition of the PIMBOK Guide. Previous the Project Management Processes (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing) have been replaced by the “Principles of Project Management” and “Project Performance Domains".
