Cloud Desktops (AVD)

Cloud Desktop (Azure Virtual Desktop) can be accessed either via the "Windows 365 Web App" on you browser, or via the "Windows App" from the Company Portal.
Windows App
- Open the Company Portal from your Start Menu. Using the "Search apps" at the for the "Windows App" in the Company Portal.

- Once downloaded, launch the Windows App from your Start Menu to login to you Cloud Desktop solution.
Web Browser
- Browse to the Windows 365 Web App via your web browser.
- Sign-in and complete MFA challenge to login to your UNBC provided M365 account.
- You will optionally be asked if you would like to be given a tour of the app. You can choose to do so, or skip this.

- Select your desired pool and "Connect"
- You will be given a few additional options to adjust your experience if you so choose, otherwise this can simply "Connect"
MacOS Remote Desktop Client
- Download and install the "Microsoft Remote Desktop" app.
- Add workspace by using url: "https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery"
- Sign in with your username@unbc.ca at the prompt and complete the MFA challenge
- Select your desired pool and click "Connect"
Known Limitations and Feedback
- Printing is only available via web print. Plans to support direct printing is planned. For details on how to Web Print, please visit the following KB: https://unbc.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/87/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=1810
- Access to G:\ drive files is not automatic. You must use File Explorer to navigate to "\\files.unbc.ca\DeptFiles\" and then login with your email and password when prompted. Plans to support automatic connection is planned.
